In week 2 of my One Room Challenge bright and airy guest bedroom on a budget I started with the big furniture pieces in the room: the bed and nightstands. I mentioned in week 1 that I already have a bed frame and nightstands that I was going to repurpose. They work for the feel I’m going for, because they are neutral (light to medium gray) and have simple and clean lines. The bed is an upholstered gray linen without a lot of extra detail other than shallow tufting and the nightstands are metal with a slim, open frame.
Here they are in the room:
Furniture like this is versatile and can be used in a variety of styles. It’s all about what you layer on top of them such as the accessories and textiles. Slimmer furniture pieces and airier frames are also great for smaller rooms and reduce bulk which is what we need in a bright and airy room!
If you have pieces you can repurpose great! If not, I pulled together 5 great headboard and nightstand combinations with a similar clean, modern, and versatile style. Each combo is under $500 for a queen headboard and 2 nightstands!
1 – Headboard*, Nightstand* (the one I have) also comes in Chrome* | 2 – Headboard*, Nightstand* | 3 – Headboard*, Nightstand* also comes in Black*, Gold*, and Copper* | 4 – Headboard*, Nightstand* | 5 – Headboard*, Nightstand*
What do you think? Would you go with any of these?
